1. Chinese Tourists Are Flocking Abroad and Hilton Hotels wants their business
Over 50 million Chinese tourists travelled overseas in 2009 and this number has been steadily growing in recent years. Hilton Hotels has made it a top priority to adapt to the needs and desires of this new, growing market. Hilton defines itself as a “global leader of hospitality”, has made its mark in more than 540 locations in 78 countries and wants to leverage their position in the hospitality industry and target the globe-trotting Chinese.
Hilton Hotels rolled out the Huanying program in August 2011. The central objective is to create a “tailored experience for Chinese travellers”, making them feel at home, regardless of where they are around the world. Taking its name from the Chinese word for “welcome,” the Hilton Hyanying caters to Chinese visitors in 69 hotels in 23 countries, including popular destinations such as New York City, Hawaii, Tokyo and London. They have tailored their amenities and services to meet the cultural needs and expectations of Chinese travelers overseas.
